Stock Trader's Almanac. He is
both a stock market historian

Clause Rally", and the "Best Six
Months of the Year."
Yale

written a number of financial
columns, and is widely quoted in
major newspapers and financial
publications.
Jeffrey Hirsch is president
of the Hirsch Organization, and Editor-in-Chief of the

(StockTradersAlmanac.com). He started with the Hirsch
Organization in 1990 as a market analyst and historian,
under the mentorship of his father, Yale Hirsch.

columns.
About The Hirsch
Organization
In 1966, Yale Hirsch
resigned as COO of Indicator Digest and formed The
Hirsch Organization. The Stock Trader's Almanac
went to press the following year. This book allowed Yale
Hirsch to distill his lifelong interest in stock market
history, cycles, and patterns into a practical working
tool for the average investor. It was the first
compilation of the market's seasonal trends, combined
with a calendar, and laid out for use by
non-institutional investors. It also brought to the
general public many "statistically predictable" market
phenomena that have since become well known, such as the
impact of the Presidential Election Year Cycle.
Since then, Yale Hirsch has
found that some days of the week, and some months of the
year, are better for stocks than others. He also found
that the stock market tends to make almost all its gains
during 6 particular months of the year. The rest of the
time, traders would be better off putting their money in
T-bills.
Today's expanded Stock
Trader's Almanac follows the original pattern, but
contains the results of additional decades of market
research. In addition, each year the Hirsch Organization
staff of contributing editors provides recommendations
for the best investment books, updates historical data,
and introduces new features.
The Hirsch Organization also
offers a monthly newsletter, Almanac Investor, delivered
by e-mail and regular mail. It is a 16 page guide to
market patterns, cycles, fundamental developments,
strategies, and stock selection.
