About Special Situation Survey

Each issue of the Special Situation Survey ( recommends only one stock. The newsletter is typically 10 to 12 pages long, profiling the company and providing the background information needed to evaluate the recommendation. They examine cash flow, profit margins, book value, financial leverage, cost of capital, and economic value added. They look for companies gaining market share, and for industry leaders. Most importantly, they look for stocks that are selling for less than they are worth, and who will meet their price target in approximately two years.

After recommending a stock, Special Situation Survey continues to follow it. They issue updated buy, hold, and sell recommendations, and release special reports on timely investment issues.

About Forbes Growth Investor

Forbes Growth Investor ( is a newsletter that relies on a proprietary, quantitative, computerized model. The model identifies and analyzes variables that are believed to be useful in predicting future stock performance. Based on this analysis, stocks are ranked relative to one another. Forbes Growth Investor research analysts then focus on the top-ranked issues and perform a comprehensive fundamental analysis. Based on the combined quantitative and fundamental analyses, 50 stocks are chosen from eight different sectors for inclusion in their model portfolio.

Each issue of Forbes Growth Letter lists the 50 stocks, identifies the most recently dropped stocks, and provides a detailed report on the newest additions. They also provide two smaller model portfolios, general commentary about the economy, and the recent performance of the stock markets.

Manage Your Portfolio with the Position Manager

There are quite a variety of investment newsletter services available to investors today, which achieve a decent track record. In reality, however, many newsletters have not translated well for most investors that subscribe to them. The reason? Money management. Without the proper position sizing using the right money management tool, you are only dealing with half the formula for success.

Let's face it: if there was one consistently successful investment newsletter, then the word would spread rapidly, and that one investment newsletter would have more customers than the population of China. The reality is that there has never been such a success. Why? Because in the final analysis, 8 out of 10 investors fail due to one simple reason: position sizing.

The majority of investors who subscribe to investment newsletters think that the process is as simple as "Just give me your recommendations and let me become as successful as you are". Unfortunately, as money managers know, entry points account for very little in the overall success of a portfolio. Find out why! is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Vahan Janjigian, or
