About Thomas Carr

Dr. Thomas Carr, also known as "Dr. Stoxx", has been actively trading the markets since 1996, following several years of studying technical analysis. Thomas Carr holds a doctorate from Oxford University, and is a tenured Professor to liberal arts students. Thomas Carr is the author of the forthcoming book, Befriend the Trend: Dr. Stoxx's Complete Guide to Online Trading.

Dr. Stoxx began trading as a part-time hobby until 2 years of losses forced him to do more research. He attended several trading seminars, and studied under some of the top names in the business. Soon he began experimenting with his own trading systems. The result was a set of time-tested, proprietary trading methods that have proved to be very profitable in all types of market conditions. These systems are based on the essentials of technical analysis, but also incorporate Dr. Stoxx's unique method of assessing market psychology and general market directionality.

About Befriend the Trend Trading

Befriend the Trend Trading, LLC (BefriendTheTrend.com) has been in business since October 2002. BefriendTheTrend.com serves the trading needs of those who

  • have smaller accounts and cannot daytrade due to SEC rules

  • prefer to keep their trading simple and easy to manage

  • want full-time trading results, but have little time to devote to trading

  • want to learn more about how to trade for themselves

  • wish to "ramp up" their trading account returns with low-risk, high-reward trades

Thomas Carr's primary goal is to enhance the equality of life of his subscribers. To that end, Befriend the Trend Trading offers 3 daily newsletter services, 2 trading seminars, and recently launched a managed account service, the "BTTT Friends and Family Fund", for selected partners.

All BefriendTheTrend.com trading picks aim to satisfy 3 goals: make as much return as possible, in as little time as possible, with the least amount of risk possible. Their proprietary trading systems, which utilize technical indicators and price patterns as they unfold in real-time, are based on simple mathematical models that project forward the most likely path of future price action. BefriendTheTrend.com trades within that path using stop losses and preset target limits. They admit they are wrong when a trade goes against them, and patient when a trade requires more time to reach maturity. They do not average down (or up), and try not to hold too many trades open at any one time.

Manage Your Portfolio with the GetFolio.com Position Manager

There are quite a variety of investment newsletter services available to investors today, which achieve a decent track record. In reality, however, many newsletters have not translated well for most investors that subscribe to them. The reason? Money management. Without the proper position sizing using the right money management tool, you are only dealing with half the formula for success.

Let's face it: if there was one consistently successful investment newsletter, then the word would spread rapidly, and that one investment newsletter would have more customers than the population of China. The reality is that there has never been such a success. Why? Because in the final analysis, 8 out of 10 investors fail due to one simple reason: position sizing.

The majority of investors who subscribe to investment newsletters think that the process is as simple as "Just give me your recommendations and let me become as successful as you are". Unfortunately, as money managers know, entry points account for very little in the overall success of a portfolio. Find out why!
