Rex Jacobsen is the founder of BeatTheStockMarket.com. He has a degree in Finance, and is a former stockbroker. Rex Jacobsen wanted to be able to make investment recommendations to clients that were free from any conflict of interest. So he decided to leave the brokerage business. He created his own system for beating the stock market, testing it on his personal stock portfolio since 1993 (this would become the recommended portfolio for his investment newsletter). In 1998, he started offering his recommendations to the public, and started BeatTheStockMarket.com in 2002, at the request of people who wanted to receive real-time buy and sell recommendations.

BeatTheStockMarket.com's goal is to achieve higher investment returns than the stock market, during both bull and bear markets. Subscribers select a model portfolio they want to follow, and then are informed via e-mail whenever BeatTheStockMarket.com is buying or selling stocks or mutual funds for the portfolio. All the buy and sell information is also listed on the web site.
