About Option Investor

Since its introduction in 1997, the Option Investor website (OptionInvestor.com) has been providing individual investors with a suite of option-focused newsletters that cover the entire range of option investing. These newsletters include the Option Investor Daily, Couch Potato Trader, Monthly Cash Machine, Option Writers, LEAPS Trader, Market Monitor, and Premier Investor.

About Option Investor Daily

Option Investor Daily is a daily newsletter that provides daily market commentary and analysis with charts; high-performance option trades, including calls and puts; exact entry and exit points; expert education and advice.

About Couch Potato Trader

The most popular option trading strategies center their approach on buying calls and puts that are a bet on the market direction. These high risk/high reward trades rely upon making the correct call about the direction of the stock market or individual stock. They are called "directional" traders. The Couch Potato Trader was created to take directional options traders who weren't happy with the risky trades and time commitment required to monitor their positions and show them a far more relaxing "non-directional" strategy with a much, much higher success rate.

About Monthly Cash Machine

The Monthly Cash Machine Newsletter's goal is to generate about $2,000 in cash, each and every month. All you need is to have a portfolio value between $35,000 and $40,000 (that can be in cash, stock, or equities). The Monthly Cash Machine Newsletter works by executing between 10 and 15 conservative (out-of-the-money) credit spreads. Spread strategies help to achieve an acceptable level of profit, while limiting losses in adverse conditions, and that is our fundamental objective in the Monthly Cash Machine portfolio.

About Option Writers

Option Writers focuses on a conservative approach to option writing, using deep-out-of-the-money puts to generate consistent, limited profits in neutral to bullish markets. To select the candidates, the Option Writers staff sorts through hundreds of charts each week looking for trending stocks with robust option premiums. In addition, Option Writers evaluates several "over-priced" option lists, searching for issues with favorable technical patterns. Those that make final list are subjected to rigorous analysis and a cadre of proprietary scans to uncover a diverse group of positions for the Option Writers portfolio.

About LEAPS Trader

Long-term Equity Anticipation Securities (LEAPS) are basically long-term options that allow an investor to capture much of the price movement of a security with a greatly reduced investment. While LEAPS offer the potential for a long-term investment, they have found it to be more profitable to identify those stocks making a move and utilizing LEAPS to capture that appreciation only as long as the move continues. Normal market cycles offer plenty of opportunities for this strategy while avoiding the periods where stocks are dormant or declining. LEAPS Trader uses proprietary screening methods to locate stocks appropriate for the LEAPS strategy. Ideally, LEAPS Trader will enter positions as the individual stock exits from these periods of dormancy or decline. If an entry does not perform within a couple weeks, LEAPS Trader will exit the non-performing position and put the investment capital to work in other positions.

About Market Monitor

The Market Monitor is a streaming, real-time desktop application that allows Market Monitor's staff of professional analysts to communicate to traders. You can sit beside ten professional traders as they enter and exit positions in real time and copy their moves a dozen times a day. Market Monitor's staff answers your questions in real time along with those from other readers. You will also get the benefit of breaking news long before it hits the airwaves.

About Premier Investor

Five times a week, Premier Investor talks about what really moved the market and why. Subscribers are kept primed for upcoming market moving news and events, and benefit from frequent stock picks. The Premier Investor staff uses technical analysis to identify those equities that look poised to move. They identify the pertinent support and resistance levels, moving averages, technical indicators, candlestick patterns, and point-and-figure charts to show you why their candidates qualify. Furthermore, Premier Investor provides precise guidelines on when to buy, when to sell and where to place your stop loss. Plus, you are informed as the play progresses as they adjust to the market's fluctuations.

Manage Your Portfolio with the GetFolio.com Position Manager

There are quite a variety of investment newsletter services available to investors today, which achieve a decent track record. In reality, however, many newsletters have not translated well for most investors that subscribe to them. The reason? Money management. Without the proper position sizing using the right money management tool, you are only dealing with half the formula for success.

Let's face it: if there was one consistently successful investment newsletter, then the word would spread rapidly, and that one investment newsletter would have more customers than the population of China. The reality is that there has never been such a success. Why? Because in the final analysis, 8 out of 10 investors fail due to one simple reason: position sizing.

The majority of investors who subscribe to investment newsletters think that the process is as simple as "Just give me your recommendations and let me become as successful as you are". Unfortunately, as money managers know, entry points account for very little in the overall success of a portfolio. Find out why!
