About Sector Navigator

The Sector Navigator was launched in 2002 to provide an economical way for investors to utilize Navigator Newsletters' proprietary trading system without having to pay a percentage of their assets to use the model. Previously, the trading system was only available to money management clients who paid a percentage of their assets to be invested in the model. Sector Navigator offers the exact same model, the only difference being that the changes are not automatically made for the subscriber; they must make the changes themselves.

The model involves a greater-than-average level of risk, and is recommended for the portion of a portfolio designated as "aggressive". Because of the frequency and timing of the trades, it is recommended that the model is used in tax-deferred accounts.

The proprietary model allocation strategy utilizes proprietary analysis and rankings to select the top sector investments, and rotates sectors based on momentum and relative strength indicators. It is designed to capitalize on short-term trading opportunities present in various sectors of the market.

Included in every issue of Sector Navigator are:

  • Model portfolios incorporating Schwab Navigator's proprietary rankings.

  • Proprietary rankings of the top sector funds, including all Fidelity Select Funds, Rydex/Profunds, and Exchange Traded Sector Funds..

  • Statistical analysis of the ranked funds showing performance over various time periods.

The Sector Navigator is available on the first trading day of each month. An individual portfolio analysis is also offered for an additional fee.

Manage Your Portfolio with the GetFolio.com Position Manager

There are quite a variety of investment newsletter services available to investors today, which achieve a decent track record. In reality, however, many newsletters have not translated well for most investors that subscribe to them. The reason? Money management. Without the proper position sizing using the right money management tool, you are only dealing with half the formula for success.

Let's face it: if there was one consistently successful investment newsletter, then the word would spread rapidly, and that one investment newsletter would have more customers than the population of China. The reality is that there has never been such a success. Why? Because in the final analysis, 8 out of 10 investors fail due to one simple reason: position sizing.

The majority of investors who subscribe to investment newsletters think that the process is as simple as "Just give me your recommendations and let me become as successful as you are". Unfortunately, as money managers know, entry points account for very little in the overall success of a portfolio. Find out why!
