About Forecasts & Strategies

Forecasts & Strategies (MarkSkousen.com) offers several services:

  • The monthly issue offers an analysis of the global and US economy.

  • Each issue continues specific recommendations in individual stocks, mutual funds, income investments, precious metals, real estate, and foreign investments.

  • Every Monday at noon, Mark Skousen does an updated "hotline", which is available by telephone and MarkSkousen.com.

About Skousen Hedge Fund Trader

Skousen Hedge Fund Trader (SkousenHedgeFundTrader.com) is a weekly, short-term trading service in stocks (both long and short) and call and put options. Hedge Fund Trader is not for conservative, buy-and-hold investors. It is intended for subscribers who are willing to monitor their positions regularly, and are comfortable with short-term trading. It uses many of the same trading techniques as the world's top hedge funds, except it is self-managed. There are no net-worth requirements, and subscribers can use their own discount broker.

Whenever Mark Skousen sees an opportunity, he sends a trading alert by e-mail or fax. Each recommendation includes facts behind each trade, as well as explicit trading instructions. Subscriptions to this service are limited to 2,000.

About Skousen High-Income Alert

Skousen High-Income Alert (SkousenHighIncomeAlert.com) is a trading strategy designed for people who are looking for a high level of income, but do not want to sacrifice potential capital gains. Mark Skousen seeks to uncover bargain-basement, high-paying opportunities with great capital-gains potential.

The service covers a spectrum of special situation investment opportunities, and whenever Mark Skousen sees an opportunity that fits his criteria of big short-term profit potential and high income, he sends an alert by e-mail or fax. Each recommendation includes the fax behind each trade, as well as explicit trading instructions. Subscribers receive at least one alert per week, either detailing a new opportunity, or updating an existing one. The number of subscriptions to this service is limited.

About Skousen Turnaround Trader

Skousen Turnaround Trader (TurnaroundTrader.com) is designed for active traders who are looking to profit from stocks that have fallen out of favor and lost a large amount of their value. The key to success is targeting the ones that will recover their value in a short period of time.

A critical part of Mark Skousen's research is to keep an eye on turnaround CEOs and master investors, who seek out companies with good turnaround potential. The characteristics of these companies include stocks selling at less than book value, assets exceeding liabilities, underperforming assets, stock prices and earnings multiples excessively depressed, and so-called "fallen angels".

Whenever Mark Skousen sees an opportunity, he sends an alert by e-mail or fax. Each alert provides a research report on the vital statistics behind each turnaround play, an executive overview of the facts and story behind each situation, instructions on buy and sell points, and a full recap of all open plays. Subscribers receive at least one trading alert per week, either detailing a new turnaround opportunity or an update on existing ones.

Manage Your Portfolio with the GetFolio.com Position Manager

There are quite a variety of investment newsletter services available to investors today, which achieve a decent track record. In reality, however, many newsletters have not translated well for most investors that subscribe to them. The reason? Money management. Without the proper position sizing using the right money management tool, you are only dealing with half the formula for success.

Let's face it: if there was one consistently successful investment newsletter, then the word would spread rapidly, and that one investment newsletter would have more customers than the population of China. The reality is that there has never been such a success. Why? Because in the final analysis, 8 out of 10 investors fail due to one simple reason: position sizing.

The majority of investors who subscribe to investment newsletters think that the process is as simple as "Just give me your recommendations and let me become as successful as you are". Unfortunately, as money managers know, entry points account for very little in the overall success of a portfolio. Find out why!
